Joy about herself:
Up to now I have learnt: "Everything is Yoga!“
The phrase "Everything is Yoga" came from Nele Schuy, my wonderful Yoga teacher. For the first time I heard it in 1997 when I started my three-years training to become a certified Yoga teacher.
Yoga, Yoga, Yoga … everything is Yoga! The deeper meaning of these words I would understand much later. At the beginning it was difficult to "stand the hero" or to smile relaxed, "sinking deep into the dove". How in the world all that is supposed to be "Yoga"?
It took some years of my own Yoga practice to have some of these releasing clear understanding moments – and to be intoxicated by the miracle of Yoga.
To sense strength and energy in the hero suddenly became a wonderful experience. And this force I could transfer more and more into daily life. My posture and motion pattern started to change….
I realised that what I learned during my training in the Yoga classes was not only for the class hours and for my Yoga training but was something for MYSELF, for my body, for a deeper understanding, for a better comprehension of movement and posture, breathing and energy flow.
I suddenly sensed this new learned sensation for posture, which I learned in the Yoga class, also in the supermarket, standing in line.
Wow! The vortex is pulled upwards and that pulls me literally towards the sky during my feet are still tightly connected with the earth. I smile to myself.
The ancient knowledge of the Yogis from the Veden about the secrets of directing energy through certain body postures (Asanas) and breathing techniques, joined with the modern knowledge of Spiral Dynamics by Dr. Christian Larsen is a perfect, daily life package.
Nowadays my life is Yoga. No matter if I cook, eat, and write, go trekking, swim or read – I am aware of my body. To do the dishes or vacuuming; everything is eventually a Yoga exercise, an exercise for your consciousness.
To teach this is my main motivation in my Yoga classes. The exercises are a medium to perform daily body postures and movements such as sitting, standing, walking or lying as easy and effortless as possible. Even unlovable tasks suddenly start to be joyful. My quality of life has visibly improved.
Training and experience
My instructors Nele Schuy, Traugott and Birgit Lukaszyk shared their extensive knowledge with me: Starting with the ancient tradition of Yoga philosophy from the Bhagavad Gita, through different lines such as Iyengar Yoga, Asthanga Yoga and Tantra Yoga up to Spiral Dynamics and fine ether energy work.
After my three-years-training to a certified Yoga teacher I directed the Institute for Yoga in Darmstadt for two and a half years.
There I taught several Yoga classes per week. Additionally I taught workshops and seminars about special topics of Yoga.
Afterwards I worked as an independent Yoga teacher for various institutions in Germany.
Since 2006 I teach Yoga on Lanzarote. I teach with joy and fun and love to spread the knowledge of the wonderful Yoga.
